    so gonna try to open all the wiring loom up sunday to check if any broken wires, my question is the tape that holds it all together, will i need any special type tape or will normal insulation tape do the trick? cheers guys..

    • I've only ever used or seen just insulation tape... You should be fine with that

    • you can buy it at screwfix or good hardware .electrical store

    • Depends how much you take off. Invariably wires break down on either end. I'd check the connections and go from there.

      As tony said self amalgamating tape. that's the proper stuff.

    • the wireing connection boxs can be a problem ..sometimes the connections go green..i find the main generator wire userly can breakdown and even melt if the connections are bad..my zzr and zxr had the same charging problem and it was the connection plug...

      Kevin get some contact cleaner and a old tooth brush and I've found the tape from screwfix is pretty good quality it's not pound shop stuff

    • I use tape then wrap in black spiral wrap to protect it from rubbing
