ok quick question to anyone.... i have a 08 250r and its pretty good but once i get to a higher cruising speed it just doesnt seem like it has enough power to cruise at a safer RPM amount.... ive been riding dirtbikes for a while and other larger bikes (dads) so would anyone recommend an "upgrade" to a zx6r... if not then what would you recommend? if u could message me or just write on the wall it would be greatly appreciated

Ya I bought a ZX14 and believe it or not its not that hairy a ride. With the secondary plates in I found it too slow of the line. I pulled out the 2ndry plates, changed exhaust, went with a steeper rear sprocket and now it has some jam. Because its such a long bike it doesn't really want to lift the wheel. I'm a fair sized guy @ 230lbs so maybe some of the lighter people bring it up a bit easier than me but it doesn't just want to wheelie. It actually plants hard and just rockets off. Pretty damn cool I must say.

Ha nice. It's got to be nuts riding that thing! ive seen one or two and theyre massive. They got like 180hp or something dont they? my 100 hp 600 already scares the shit out of me. How on earth do you keep that bike on two wheels? it has to rip wheelies like a mofo in every gear with that much power. haha

            Hi there.

                Frame Sliders for 08 250R?

These are the ONLY frame sliders I can find for the 2008 Ninja 250's...

                http://www.nomadicmoto.com/index.php?main_page=pro duct_info&cPath=70_103_120&products_id=2859

Has anyone gotten these, or have an opinion on them? The price seems a bit steep...

                • By the way, they're custom made in a specialized workshop, for there are not so many imports in my city. So far, most of the 250's in town have those installed, and have accomplished their work, even in some nasty accidents, protecting the rider's legs.

                • Did you ever find any? Have an '07 that I would like to get some for.

                • that's what I found out too--will let you be the test pilot on this project. lol. let me know how it turns out.

btw, it's spring in Texas right now (75 F) just thought that I would throw that in.

                  Frame Sliders — Kawasaki Versys

                  Frame Sliders

I was wondering if anyone has any recommendations for a good set of frame sliders for the Versys. I don't want to have to do any modifications to the bike for them to fit. Thanks

                  • I wouldn't bother Grant, they are expensive and many don't work very well or protect much of the bike, I have heard of several shearing off at the mounting bolt at anything more than a low speed off.

I have Hepco & Becker crash bars, tested on Hardknott Pass and they work great and are easy enough to fit without any modifications.

alright ppl, quick question. i got an 05 636 and as owners will know front tire choice is a pain in the arse... 120/65, not a great deal out there. was considering getting some BT021s because BT014 are getting destroyed way to quickly for my wallets liking. If anyones gambled on a 120/70 or 120/60 can you let me know what the changes were in riding?? any that stood out? good/bad? cheers. if all fails im gonna get a BT021 rear and BT014 front and see how that goes.

                  Any help will be apprieciated

In response to Mike W's comment, people always say "you'll kill yourself" or "I'd never trust myself" but when you aquire your bike license the test is so stringent that you've been trained properly to ride. Non riders will never understand. Its only a small amount of dangerous assholes that non riders hear about which let's down the biking community.

Now then people, got my bike test on the 23rd and have just been a little mad and bought myself a 2003 ZX6R 636 for my first bike, couldnt help myself, fell in love with it. EVERYONE keeps telling me its going to kill me and its too fast for a first bike etc etc. I know its a bit silly but ive bought her now and theres excactly 0% chance of me changing my mind and changing her for anything else. Is there anybody out there that started on a big bike and has anything positive to say rather than warnings and head shakes. Maybe some constructive advice!
