Looking for a carb for 2001 800 Drifter. Any help would be great !

  • 800 classic is the same.

  • 800 Classic isn't the same afraid - that would be too easy. The Drifter has a throttle position sensor that feeds the engine management electronics. The classic carb looks similar but doesn't have this sensor. You can check this by looking at the parts lists online.

  • OK. You are correct. But didn't the later 2004-5 era classic have the tps??

  • Oops. No they did not. Same carb without tps.

  • No, not according to the parts lists for the 2004 & 2005 US spec bikes. TPS not shown on carb or as a spare as it is for the 800 Drifter.

  • Worse the vn800s do not even have the mounting boss for the tps.

  • I'm afraid so.
