Radiator cap cover pre order — Kawasaki Tecate 4

price is shipped domestic. I'll be doing 2 runs of these, one with the top just flush, the second with the finger groove just like factory. I am waiting on a price from the machinist for the ones with the groove, They will cost more, more material, and more machine time. This isn't time to make payment, it's time to post up if you want one, or two, or more, and which style. The grooved ones with not exceed 100.00. I'm guessing around 80 shipped domestic, they may be cheaper but not more expensive. Next will be gas caps and stator covers. I don't have a gas cap design yet so am open to different designs, pm me, then I'll post my faves and we will vote on them. Thanks for your time!

New, Billet 6061 Aluminum. Build to factory specs plus the addition of increasing the center shaft diameter to 8mm from 4mm. We have over 100 sets out there with ZERO issues. this is a limited run, don't miss out. If you have factory valves you WILL need new valves at some point. It's better to be looking at them than looking for them. If they go quick, I may consider another run. 210.00 for the first set, 200.00 for each additional set. paypal is whiz1quads@yahoo.com

Just wanted to throw out an update on the powervalves. The machinist called today, they are now at splining stage, after that the holes and notches will be cut. this is the fastest he has done them so far. A guess at completion? maybe 2-3 weeks, save your money, I'm thinking they won't last long, and it's a limited run. If they go quick enough I'll do another run. Please know this isn't a cheap endeavor to have these made. Don't waste time, get them while I have them.

Anyone who is interested, comment here with quantities. Price is 210.00 shipped domestic per set,

Regards. NEW FENDERS — Kawasaki Tecate 4

          Regards : NEW FENDERS

Well guys I have some exciting news and am honored to be the delivery man. Actually if this doesn't work out I could be asshole #1......lol.

Had a great lengthy exchange tonight with Dave Roberts. Many may not know but Dave@ILR was the last person as far as we know to have oem quality new plastics made. The west coast guys may be able to elaborate more on that. Well with the current state of affairs (availability, price and interest) Dave will be taking steps to go ahead with another run, which ultimately would start with test pieces. There is a lot of things that are required to happen, it's not cut and dry process per say. However wheels will be put in motion here now. In a nut shell, Dave will be looking into the mold situation, are the original molds that were used before still available? if not there are still options. sounds like 2 countries have expressed interest in doing the work. Way to much information to post. bottom line is we need to know who's serious. honestly I'm 35 years old and I missed the last go of this so you can bet your ass I'm loading up for life. He figures he will have to come up with the $10k to get the manufacturer willing to work. before he said they would do the work without much cash down and would usually make a couple test sets to dial them into spec, not they want the money and will keep building them until desired spec is met. he mentioned the green isn't exactly a perfect color match to oem. so you guys can do the math, $10k is needed, I imagine dave will put out a little himself, just a guess, but outside investment is required (US the enthusiasts ). exact cost per set is not yet known as that will be his goal this week to get that nailed down.

so very exciting news guys. I have always put lines in the water and tonight we were given a reason for optimism. with daves permission he permitted me to release the great news.

once he gets the info we needs I'm hoping that includes approximate cost per set.

who wants fenders and who is ready to put the money out?

I got this a couple of years back tore it down put most of the important things in the garage in hopes of a rebuild in the near future and then I found out I was going to be a dad so here it is almost 4 years later and the old beast is hungry for new life. So last time I searched for parts on the internet they were far and few between. Main things I'm looking for right now are power valves and guide because they are missing and piston because it's cracked thanks for any help and guidance in advance yall.

By the way NO I will not sell it. have a great day

I got an opportunity to make an offer on this stuff. the tecate you may remember was just posted here not long a go. this guy has a pile of parts too. Only 1 tecate rear fender. No other plastics at all. No idea of exact shape of anything other than the complete tecate runs. last offer I made sight unseen was 2200$ and was told to fuck off. just curious what you all think. I don't need this stuff. Everything of his would be parts to me. but I would like to buy it for a reasonable price. he won't tell me what he wants for it. just wants me to make an offer. what do yall think

shame on the person asking $900 for a shot set of fenders on ebay. cracked front with broken tab, burn hole in rear and to top it off seat needs recovering. that's a shame trying to sell that for that kind of cash. all that's doing is inflating the prices..... Brutal. I wasn't interested btw. feel sorry for the guys who need them and have to pay that much for that quality....

so I found a small ma and pa glass and resin shop within 45 minutes of my house — Kawasaki Tecate 4

so I found a small ma and pa glass and resin shop within 45 minutes of my house. they do one off or short order fiberglass, carbon fiber etc. I'm taking an oem hood, maier hood, side panels and maybe my aluminium rear master cylinder guard down and going to get a quote on carbon fiber. while I'm there I will see example pieces of other things they have made. Apparently they can do lower quality CF all the way up to high gloss automotive quality CF.

that being said I'm not promising anything. but if it's reasonable price I may go ahead. the owner told me that it's alot cheaper if you have a piece that they can make a mold off of versus creating a cad file from scratch. he tells that 5 pieces of any given product general will hide the cost of production.

side panels and rear master guard are straight forward. the hood however presents some options. I don't use a headlight for example because I run pvl. I will never use the oem headlight again as long as I live. BUT most people do use it. personally I like the maier hood the best. I definitely won't be making multiple arrangements. or alternatively we could totally change the look of a hood, for example check out quad tech ot carbon werx. if anyone is interested let me know what you would like to see. would be handy to get lots of feedback this weekend.

let me know what ya want and I will see what the best options are.....

Last summer I bought the 2 T4's that Peter Dowell had listed for sale and have been working on the 1987 with the KX500 engine the past few months. It had a cracked and broken frame in 3 different places so I took it to Gary at GT Performance and just got it back today. He replaced all the damaged and broken frame tubes with Chrome Molly tubing and reinforced all the engine mounts, including adding one to the top of the cylinder head. It came out Great!!!! I am so excited to get this bike back on the sand drags!

So this is my 87....it has been sitting for the last few years because of the head gasket leaking to bad to ride. I saw one recently and makes me want to get it back running. What head gasket do you guys use? I have always had issues with it leaking even after I sent the cylinder off to be redone. I was wondering if anyone uses any type of head gasket sealant when you put it back together to prevent this problem?

I'm wanting to update the suspension on my 87 T4 some. I currently have Funco A-arms and factory front shocks. I don't want to spend a lot of money, but I'd like to have shocks as good as the modern day stock shocks. How are the works dual rates with rez? Also I've read that bump steer is really bad on these quads, how do I address that? I just bought a newly rebuilt rear shock and I think that I'll be content with that for now. My quad currently has the rear shock, but never had the rez on it.
