Question for the group — Kawasaki KDX KX riders Nationwide

    Question for the group:

While riding last weekend, I had stalled & layed the bike down after avoiding my riding partner's wipe out. After that, I had no compression on the kick start, none at all, no resistance. I pushed the bike about 15 feet or so, then everything worked fine. Never happened before or since. Is this common? Any ideas on what's going on? Do I have a ticking time bomb on my hands? Any preventative maintenance that I can provide?

    Thanks.

Can anyone help me? My 89 kdx isn't shifting right. I've checked the pawl, drum turns fine using a socket wrench and spinning the wheel, I can have the bike off, and do the same, this time using the shifter itself with no issues. BUT, it won't go into 6th gear, and running, it doesn't shift. I'm also looking for a headlight, and any input is greatly appreciated. On a side note, I read online of using diesel fuel to flush the tranny. Would this cause problems or not?

Thought I'd share, 4 months ago I was at the hospital waiting for my daughter to be born, and someone decided to steal my 88 kdx 200. Low and behold it just turned back up after laying deep in the woods for what seemed like the entire 4 months. Got it home, choked it, and it fires up first kick! Can't beat these old bikes! Now it's time to get it cleaned up and back to the trails!

I don t care if folks share their other machines on here to show em off — Kawasaki KDX KX riders Nationwide

I don't care if folks share their other machines on here to show em off. We are a Kawasaki page but I'm sure alot of you guys own other bikes/atv's you are proud of. As long as Tech questions and the main subject matter of the page remains Kawasaki kdx and kx related then its ok by me. Anyone object?

After all, we are all men here...."showing off" is natural. Lol

No title. I ride it daily. Has full fmf. Gnarly woods. Has a couple dents. Jetted. Lowering links. Newer chain and sprockets 13/49. Full synthetic always used. 40:1. Has "kips rattle" could use gear fluid changed. Monster decal kit. Needs a rear fender. I would post pics but it's really muddy. Went trail riding yesterday. Inbox me. Have all receipts from previous owner. Was from North Carolina. Vin comes up clean.

For those who don't know....You can get entire parts breakdown of your bike for free online through any parts distributor. I suggest using Partzilla website. It's easy to use. Just type in for example "1998 kdx200 parts fiche" (or your year/make/model) online and MANY websites come up. You get this......

Hey guys..I did steering bearings on my 03 ldx 220 a few weeks ago and have a good ride on em. Seems that everything isnt quite a perfect fit..the races are in all the way and the bottom bearing is pressed all the way on but its as if the bearings are taller..the main stem bolt will only go part way down the threaded stem..I used an impact to tighten it and get it off...do u guys think I should try oem bearings instead. .that bolt should screw all the way down..the spacer is also in correctly. Any ideas?
