    I Have a kx500 one day I could not get it started was just backfiring can this be the reason why and can the piece of the reed destroy my cylinder from what I see the cylinder looks ok I have not remove the head or the jug

    • The piece of reed would have gone straight out the exhaust causing no damage, its a common problem, the vibration cracks the reeds, boyseen are bad for doing it, i tbink carbon reeds are better, you just have to check them regularly, replace if uou see cracking on the petals

    • I run oem in mine, haven't had an issue apart from normal wear and tear
