I am looking for a darkside tire for my V2K and I am looking at the Sumitomo 225/60-16 and the GY triple tread.

Anyone have experience with these - especially the Sumitomo ?

  • The wider the car tire the harder it is to turn I ran 225 for 30000 miles then I discover when I went with a 205 it was much easier.. 205/50/16 Sumitomo is my current tire.

  • I don't know if you can run a 225-60 you may have a little rubing . 225-50 is the biggest size .

  • The 205/50 would reduce my effective gear ratio too much and this tire doesn't come in a 205/50 or 215/60. Some of the guys on the Vulcan forum have run the 225/60 without any problems - close to rubbing the inner plastic piece but no contact.

  • 205/50/16 Sumitomo,love it!!!!

  • Put one on 500 miles ago LOVE IT!!

  • I agree with Mr Bare. My 225 50 R15 did rub some holes into that plastic piece that runs over the back tire. I like the 225, I have over 20000 miles on it, but it does require extra turning input to lean and muscle it through turns.
