Hindi lahat ng LTO DEPUTIZED AGENT makakapanghuli ng lahat ng klase ng TRAFFIC VIOLATION ang panghuhuli ay depende sa expertise or knowledge in a particular field.

The Land Transportation Office (LTO) is color-coding identification cards for deputized personnel to properly indicate their jurisdiction.

The ID cards, which come in orange, green, blue and white, will be handed to government workers designated by the LTO to deal with specific road violations.

“Ang pagbibigay natin ng ID as deputation order, inumpisahan ng LTO nitong 2017. Ito ay magpapatunay na ang isang deputized officer ay talagang may authority sa LTO,” said Francis Ray Almora, director of the LTO’s law enforcement service office, in an interview with ABS-CBN News.

(The LTO started giving out IDs as deputation orders this year. The IDs will prove that a deputized officer is authorized by the LTO.)

Orange ID cards are for deputized personnel from the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH), who can call out drivers with overloaded vehicles.

Green ID cards are for deputized Department of Environment and Natural Resources personnel who can apprehend smoke-belchers.

Blue ID cards are for Highway Patrol Group officers and Metro Manila Development Authority deputies, who have the right to apprehend franchise violators.

White ID cards are assigned to LTO personnel who can apprehend drivers for all traffic violations.

“Kaya nagkaroon kami ng different coded IDs, kasi iba-iba ang batas natin, so kailangan ng iba't-ibang expertise . . . (at) para alam (ng publiko) na ito lang ang pwede nilang implement,” said Almora.

(We made different coded IDs, because we have different laws and we need the expertise of different people. This is also meant for the public, which will now know what rules the deputized personnel can implement.)

The LTO sees the color-coded ID cards as a way to cut down on illegal transactions on the road and help drivers be aware if they are being scammed by an apprehending officer.

Photos from Ron Hunt's post — Kawasaki KDX KX riders Nationwide

I just bought a nice new dirt bike this weekend and while riding yesterday it got me thinking of my first bike. That first motorcycle changed my life and got me started into riding. The right bike at the right time can change ones life and cause one to pursue a life of riding. ...and was I lucky enough to get that bike?!!? Boy oh...I did and I rode that lil' dirt bike everywhere growing up and I'm sure that the freedom and adventure given to me thru that bike by my Mom and Dad buying it for me surely changed my life as well as my outlook on life. So...ya know that I love telling stories so let's sit down, rewind a few decades and go motorcycling with lil' Ron.

It was the summer of 1985 and all things were Madonna, Ronald Reagan, no more 7th grade, my Dad's big red Dodge truck, and me still being young enough to not be worrying about girls. ...those were the days. I was 13yrs old and had always wanted a motorcycle but for almost a year I'd been doing a full court press on Mom and Dad and had been begging, pleading, and dropping hints just like Ralphie on the great movie A Christmas Story. ...I suppose this is my Lil' Red Rider BB gun story. I'd even resorted to vandalism by writing in spray paint on my dad's buildings and tool sheds "I WANT A MOTORCYCLE!!!". I shoulda got an ass whooping!!!! ...everywhere you looked was spray painted "I WANT A MOTORCYCLE!!!" But Mom and Dad were awesome and I had a great childhood so they finally felt that I was ready for a bike and off we went looking. We stopped at the local Suzuki shop and they had nothing my size. I remember stopping there once when I was 5 or 6yrs old and looking up in amazement at this huge dirt bike that I wondered who in the world was tall enough to ride it. I swear the footpeg seemed like it was as tall as my chin!!! Up to my chin!!!! The wheels and tires were gigantic!!! It just gave me a sense of wonderment of how one could go anywhere on a motorcycle. ....just one of those childhood memories. Anywho...on we went. We stopped at the local Yamaha shop and again no luck. ...all the bikes there were too big as well. With my young age and size and inexperience I was in need of an 80~100cc bike. No bike was bought on that weekend so I had to wait til the following weekend as my dad worked all week in the coal mines. ...bless his heart, he worked long and hard and still found time to raise a huge garden and would come home from a long day of working, covered in coal dust, and would clean up and then he and Mom would go off to work in the garden until late in the evening. They'd get me to work sometimes in the garden picking up rocks or planting potatoes or picking weeds with them but more often than not I'd slip off with my dog Prince on some adventure in the hills around the house. ...I did say that I needed an ass whooping didn't I??? The following weekend we saw a used bike being sold at an intersection and I was dead set on it. ...it looked like a YZ85 or something similar. Dad said we'd stop on the way back from grocery shopping in town. I complained that it might get sold before we got back. "Relax." Dad said. Ha!! Relax???? How can one relax???? Y'all know a little boy can't relax when the bike of his dreams is being sold alongside the road!!! ...I didn't even know what kind of dirt bike it was then but I was sure that it was that very dream bike. So, on the back way home we approached the little intersection and with anticipation boiling over I stretched and strained looking over the front seats for my soon-to-be ride buuuut...it was gone. ...heartbreak. Simple heartbreak.... The world was over. That was the only bike for sell in the world it seemed to this poor defeated (and spoiled) kid riding in the backseat. I whined and pouted all the way home. ...did I say that I needed an ass whooping??!? The next week dragged along and poor Lil' Ron was still not riding. All his friends were out riding and there I was stuck. I'd hear the braaaap braaaap braaaap of a distant bike blazing up the little road that we lived on and I'd rush out to see it. Smoke pouring outta the exhaust pipe and it's whine getting closer. And there passing me would be one or more of my school buddies off on some big adventure. ...I just knew it!!! Where were they going???!!? What mountains were they climbing???!!? Oooohhhh....my life sucked.... I looked at my bicycle in disgust. ...peddling had lost its thing about a year ago for me. You can only ride a bicycle so long making vrooom vrooom braaap noises pretending you're twisting the throttle before depression sets in. Sigh.... Oh...I fantasized about double jumps and never-ending wheelies and races across Baja and multi day adventure rides all that week. Actually all that previous school year I'd been in a daze about dirt bikes. Hey...I'm an only child and developed a good imagination. So anywho, the weekend finally came and Dad, Mom, and I loaded up in the truck and off we went to the little town of Grundy Virginia, about 25min from home to the Honda shop there. And there they were!!! All those bikes lined up side by side in those amazingly beautiful mid-80's color schemes consisting of sky blue seats and dark blaze orange plastic fenders and gas tanks with sun yellow number and side plates. Oooohhhh....those color schemes will forever be my favorite of any bike. Even to this day I'd take that color if only the current manufactures would listen to my pleas and bring back those designs. ...perhaps I should spray paint that request on their buildings???? Anywho...what was I saying? Oh yeah...bikes lined up for miles!!! Miles I tell ya!!! Hey, I was in a bike shop and I was little and excited and there were about a dozen bikes lined up...y'all bikers know the feeling. Bikes for miles!!! CR's and XR's everywhere and across from them was the cool Honda Odyssey's that looked awesome...this was before ATV's became big and hit the scene. ...but my mind was razor focused on a bike. And then I saw her... Tucked into that long line of bikes....there she was. A pretty little XR100R. Oh, to me it was the perfect size. And the best bike ever...I just knew it!!! Now, I didn't know anything about bikes at that time. Nothing!! I didn't know about four strokes vs two strokes...all I knew was that bikes looked fun and that I had to have one. The little XR was sandwiched between a CR125 which looked huge and an XR80R. Luckily we got the 100...the 80 would've been too small for me engine wise. It had the same frame and all but I would've been hard on those 80cc's and the 100 was perfect for me as my first bike. We got home and unloaded the bike and my apprenticeship as an Evil Knieval wannabe began. But actually...it was my dad who became the first one to ride a wheelie on that bike. He was showing me how the clutch and throttle and all the controls worked and he decided to ride it around the yard. Welp, when he pulled out he popped the clutch too fast while giving it gas and up the bikes front wheel came as he took off speeding across the yard. It was priceless!!!! I don't know what was louder...the roar of the bike or the roar of my dad yelling profanities as he raced across the front yard and going right thru his prized cherry tree. Mom and I were both standing there in amazement, eyes wide and mouths hanging open wider. I remember Mom putting her hand up to her mouth and lowly saying "Oh my God"....I swear she reminds me exactly of Ralphie's own mother from A Christmas Story just as Dad reminds me of his father!!! Somehow Dad wrestled my big mean bike and slowed it down. He pulled up to us, his brow heavily soaked in perspiration along with little red marks and whelps all across his face and arms from being smacked by all the tree limbs, his demeanor humbled a bit as he had before towered over my little bike and remarked that it was small...now he respected my new mean machine. After seeing my dad thumped by my bike I knew I'd picked the right bike and thought it was a beast. That summer I learned to respect it as well and to respect motorcycling. I had lots of little wrecks on it as well as two big ones that tore skin off my knees and elbows...an initiation into the world of motorcycling I suppose. But I learned the lesson of watching where you're going, don't look around to smile at your buddy, to beware of dogs running out in front of you....all the typical hazards to riders. I rode that bike everywhere that year. I discovered old dirt roads around lakes and rivers seldom traveled by anyone anymore. During the summer I was gone from the time I woke up until almost bedtime. ...daylight to dark was riding time!!! When school began in late August I developed a rhythm. I'd arrive home at 3:50pm, Mom would have me a sandwich fixed that I'd just about swallow whole, I'd throw on some old clothes, and off I'd be before 4:30pm...arriving home just at dark as my bike had no headlight. One of my favorite things to do was to put on my back pack which held a small collapsable fishing pole and bait in it and I'd ride off thru the mountains to a secluded fishing hole around the lake where I'd catch tons of bluegill. I'd then keep them on a stringer and as it got close to dark I'd load up my catch in my backpack and race off to several ponds up in the mountains near home where I would stock them with the fish I'd caught. Then I'd race the darkness home....sometimes pulling in just after dark and Mom and Dad would be worried about me and tell me, "Ronald Lee...you get home before dark next time or there won't be another next time!!! Clear?!??" ...but it seemed that there always was a next time and Mom and Dad saw how much I loved to ride and they never did take away my privilege to ride. I can't thank either one of them enough for giving me that first bike and thus giving me the joy of riding and installing in me that sense of freedom and adventure. Thank you Mom and Dad. :')

Photos from Ron Hunt's post — Kawasaki KDX KX riders Nationwide

Welp fella's...I made the typical mistake of getting too much power and want to share the story with y'all. ...be gentle with me cause we've all made mistakes and we all just like to ride big bikes. Ha!!!

I juuust bought this 2009 KLX450R this weekend and it's a beast for sure and while it was a great deal it's just too much bike for me I believe...power as well as weight. I'm 45yrs old and been riding bikes for 32yrs. I'm 6ft and weigh 175lbs. I own a 2005 KDX200 which I absolutely love because of its nimbleness and quickness and will never sell it. I've been wanting a new bike and wanting to go back to four strokes and came across this KLX for $3000. It is super clean and has loooow miles, great aftermarket goodies on it like a header and exhaust pipe, great jetting, air filter, carbon fiber skid plate, hand guards, oversize foot pegs, and best of all its tagged and street legal and came with a Baja Designs dual sport bolt-on kit. ...I just couldn't pass it up. My buddy Paul and I test rode it and were surprised at its ease of starting with its electric start and test rode it back and forth on a nearby backroad. With cash in hand I snagged it up and returned home. I just took it for a 20mi ride off-road and put it thru its paces (or should I say that it put me thru my paces...ha!). I traveled beside a highway for a few miles to get off-road and I had the bike traveling easily at 80mph with plenty of throttle to spare. Then I discovered that it'll put-put along a flat road at 6mph without giving it any gas. It really handles tight technical trails well and is difficult to stall. The clutch felt great and shifting is smooth on the bike and 1st gear is great for crawling around. The brakes stopped the bike easily and quickly. The suspension for my weight and pace of riding was perfect and soaked up everything. Now, this is my first 450 and I was amazed at the low end grunt as well as the snap the bike had when gassing it. Whether in the correct gear or lugging the bike in a higher one, upon gassing it the bike leapt out and away like a cannonball pulling my arms hard. One definitely has to be careful when getting on the throttle of one of these 450's for sure. And I suppose that's what I didn't like about it. I had to stay more aware of my throttle when riding this bike. Everybody likes power and torque and horsepower and all those good things but I've learned something in my old age and owning that little KDX200. It's more fun to ride a slow bike fast than try to ride a fast bike slow. I never thought I'd say that cause sure...I love to go fast. But that 450 is scary quick and one could get into trouble fast. One mistake in blipping the throttle at the wrong time could send ones ass flying. Ha!!! And I've discovered that I like lightweight bikes too. There's nothing like little nimble two-strokes. My KDX weighs a scant 220lbs whereas this KLX weighs 277lbs. and that's a noticeable difference. I'm not putting this bike or 450's down at all. It's an amazing bike. It'll do everything you ask it too. Wide open top speeds across hard pack roads to 1st gear slow trail riding...it really did well and I'm pleased with the bike. It's just that I felt more exhausted after riding it than I do after riding my KDX200. I had to be more careful about my throttle usage on the big 450 and I did notice it's weight while riding. Have y'all ran into the same situations? I'd love to hear some similar stories. I'm gonna ride it some more and try to get used to its power and weight. If I discover that I'm just not enjoying my rides on it enough I'm gonna sell it and save up to get a 2009 or later KTM 200/250/300 XC-W two stroke. ...would love to hear some stories about those bikes and similar ones as well as stories about anyone who had to step down from the 450's to go to smaller bikes. And it'd also be interesting to read some stories about those who learned to handle the bigger powered bikes. I know there's tons of better riders than me who can handle those powerful bikes. It's all about riding and having fun and once we guys learn to check our egos at the door and give up on bikes that are too big or powerful for us we then discover those little gems of bikes that make us smile and have a blast on. I'll keep y'all updated on how I'm doing on this beastly thing. Yay..go me. Be safe out there on the tracks and trails!!!!!! Ron — at Appalachian Mountains.

MONDAY PUBLIC RELEASE — Kawasaki ZX10R BMW S1000RR

            MONDAY PUBLIC RELEASE:

            https://www.patreon.com/posts/2016-bmw-s1000rr-671 4358

Pro Superbike Racer / Rider Trainer, Marcel Irnie travels south to Nels of 2Wheel DynoWorks in Kirkland Washington, to Dynotune Merlin on VP MR12 oxygenated race fuel. Nels & Marcel are looking for a 5-10 RWHP improvement through-out the entire power-band compared to pump fuel dyno results. A 200 rear wheel max horsepower with 90+ Torque is a realistic goal, depending on dyno-room atmospheric conditions - of-course.

Explaining dyno results is rarely appropriate, as every day or hour the numbered results will vary. What's important is to set a baseline with pump gas, and then create improvements with fuel tuning and ignition advance, combined with testing the knock-sensor to find the maximum advance, while comparing the HP results at different RPMs. We add or subtract fuel delivery at every rpm (in 100 increments), and throttle positions until we have a perfect air/fuel ratio. The typical a/f ratio of choice for 95% of all bikes is 13.1. The BMW however can sometimes operate at 13.0 and 13.2 with no power change. BMW really makes a great engine.

Next, Irnie explains how he uses 87 AKI (Anti-Knock Index) regular pump fuel mixed with AMSOIL Octane boost, raising the pump fuel 87 AKI to 94+ AKI octane, depending on mix ratio. (1 bottle (355ml to 4 gallons of 87 AKI will create 106 AKI octane. Keep in mind most countries, including Australia, New Zealand and all of those in Europe, the "headline octane rating shown on a pump is RON. In Canada and USA, Brazil, the headline number is the average of the RON and the MON (R+M)/2). It may also sometimes be called Posted Octane Number (PON).

Marcel also uses AMSOIL Quickshot fuel additive to fight ethanol problems, keeping injectors clean, stabilize the fuel and remove carbon deposits from valves and piston tops.

Look up the products for yourself at http://irnieracing.shopAMSOIL.com .

JUST A REMINDER TO ALL PINOY RIDERS — Kawasaki Avenger Forum - LONE WOLVES

JUST A REMINDER TO ALL PINOY RIDERS

Pinoys love to ride motorcycles. In fact, it is a mode of transportation in many of our localities. However, it can also be a very dangerous ride if safety measures will not be followed.

There is no excuse for being involved in road accident if you are riding your two-wheel drive unsafe. In using a motorcycle, riders should always be reminded that they should be extra careful because unlike cars, motorcycles do not have covers and airbags that will protect them from the impact of a collision or crash. Even though we are not asking for these tragedies to occur, we cannot neglect that it is a possibility.

Effects of accidents may be fatal, and in some cases riders get killed. It is a reality we cannot deny, but we can always prevent these instances from happening. The quote “prevention is better than cure” will not be a famous adage for nothing, and it applies very true even in motorcycle riding.

If you are a motorcyclist who values your life, the feeling of the people who loves you, as well as the safety of others, you have to ensure that you are following the two approaches for a safe motorcycle ride.

              #1. Ride With Care

Many riders think that keeping their selves protected in their ride is the only way to ensure safety in public roadways. If you are one of the riders who are thinking of the same way, you may be wrong this time. Definitely, keeping yourself protected is one of the solutions, however, there is a primary way that you must always follow at all times. What is it? That is practicing your “duty of care” when you are traversing public roadways.

              #2. Follow Traffic Rules

Following traffic rules, being concern of others, and being extra careful when you travel will not only benefit you, but other people who are using the road the same as you. There are plenty of motorcyclists who are neglecting their duty because they become overconfident that they are wearing gears. As much as possible, be responsible in riding. By riding right, you are making a very big difference.

FlashTune complete On-Bike ECU Flashing Kit — Kawasaki ZX10R BMW S1000RR

Flash your ECU and multiple ECU'S at half the cost of a Bazzaz or Power Commander V with ignition module. You can flash your ECU as many tines as you want. Want to tune another bike, the license is $100 per bike and follows that bike. It also controls your Fuel Tables, which is what PCV & Bazzaz Z-Fi does, but at a fraction of the cost once you buy the kit. Ran me $50p + shipping and includes a bundle of unrestricted U.S. and unrestricted European files. European model bikes are more powerful than US bikes.

So, I have the dealer version of the FlashTune (FTECU) kit. I bought the On-Bike version for many reasons:

                1. Don't have to remove the ECU everytime you want to flash the ECU. (This costs you money taking out the ECU everytime they do a run and make changes)

                2. You can run FlashTune while the bike is on THE DYNO so you get real time data. The tuner can fill in every cell on the fuel table which is only like, 100 individual cells instead of just getting a WOT tune since he'd be blind or have to use his own software, which won't match up perfectly with any ECU Flashing Program.

                3. The ECU harness is cheaper than the bench harness. Half the cost.

                4. Wire in the harness permanently and forgetbit. Yes, it can be removed if you sell the bike, but I don't recommend installing it, Uninstaller it several times.

                5. REAL TIME DATA

This will work on Suzuki's (which is highly restricted), Honda's, Kawasaki's, Yamaha's, etc... check out their website.

If you own a 2013-2017 Kawasaki ZX-6R, I have the $50 harness I will sell along with it.

Flashing the ECU doesn't just increase power, it improves rideability such as the herky jerky-ness of throttle transitions (on throttle, off throttle, on throttle) which can not only be a nusuence, but while in a turn, can dramatically upset the chassis. Remove top speed limiter, raise your speed limiter individually per gear, individually control each individual cylinder, throttle plates, (secobdary throttle plates), injectors (secondary throttle plates) all individually once again by each individual cylinder, ignition timing, ignition advance, change your fuel maps on each cylinder (no need for a Power Commander or a Bazzaz, although running both gets you the most power if you run the Bazzaz Z-AFM, disable exhaust servo check engine light (no need for a Servo Buddy), disable Pair Valve, increase/decrease engine braking individually per gear & RPM, change TC settings on each individual TC Modes so if you have received settings, you can change how it all works, change the different maps on your Power Mode Selector so if you have High, Medium & Low Power Mode, you can make it Race for race fuel, Street for premium fuel and economy mode or whatever you want, disable TC lockout (say you don't use your TC because you like doing wheelies or whatever, everytime you turn your bike off, does it default back to Traction Mode 1? This keeps it at its last setting including off.

Photos from Ron Hunt's post — Kawasaki KDX KX riders Nationwide

I love this bike!!! I've owned it since this Spring and it's been amazing. Here's my review of it...just my thoughts and opinions really along with a brief history of my dirt biking experience. Perhaps this rambling review will help someone somewhere with questions that they may have before buying a KDX.

I bought this 2005 KDX200 in the early Spring. It has an aftermarket pipe and FMF exhaust, had some simple jetting done to it, a Scott's steering stabilizer, and came with new tires, chain, pulleys...really it was set up right and ready to ride.

I'm 6ft and weigh 175lbs and have been riding dirt bikes since 1985. I would describe myself as a four stroke rider in style. The only other two stroke I've owned was a 1986 Yamaha Tri-Z 250 three wheeler...a real beast and a great machine...but that's another story.

My first bike was a 1985 Honda XR100, my second was a 1987 Yamaha TT225 which was awesome for a young teenager with its headlight and easy to ride manners. In the early 90's I purchased a 1988 Honda XR600 which I still own. The Big Six is a great bike but after riding the nimble KDX I realize how difficult it was riding the large XR due to its weight. The bike just wears me out in tight areas where maneuverability and slow speed riding was priority. ...and living here in the Appalachian Mountains of Eastern Kentucky that is the largest percentage of my riding. And another problem with the 600 was its difficult starting, especially after a drop. ...not so with the KDX. One or two quick n easy kicks and it fires up!!!

                      So...onto the KDX.

It's just sooo nimble and quick!!! I love that I can flick it around so easily on tight trails. It's lightness just makes it a breeze to ride on slow trails and roads. It's plenty quick enough for me as well. I was riding beside the highway on the way home the other night and was easily staying with the nearby highway traffic. ...my skills are just fine with its speed performance in the dirt.

The ease of starting this bike amazes me. A quick kick and it's happily idling and ready to take off.

Motorcycle Safety Riding Tips From Lone Wolves Family

Make motorcycle riding safety your top priority!

Operating a motorcycle takes different skills than driving a car; however, the laws of the road apply to every driver just the same. A combination of consistent education, regard for traffic laws and basic common sense can go a long way in helping reduce the amount of fatalities involved in motorcycle accidents on a yearly basis.

Follow these tips for safe riding:

Always wear a helmet with a face shield or protective eye wear.

Wearing a helmet is the best way to protect against severe head injuries. A motorcycle rider not wearing a helmet is five times more likely to sustain a critical head injury.

                              Wear appropriate gear.

Make sure to wear protective gear and clothing that will minimize the amount of injuries in case of an accident or a skid. Wearing leather clothing, boots with nonskid soles, and gloves can protect your body from severe injuries. Consider attaching reflective tape to your clothing to make it easier for other drivers to see you.

                              Follow traffic rules.

Obey the speed limit; the faster you go the longer it will take you to stop. Be aware of local traffic laws and rules of the road.

                              Ride Defensively

Don't assume that a driver can see you, as nearly two-thirds of all motorcycle accidents are caused by a driver violating a rider's right of way. You should always ride with your headlights on; stay out of a driver's blind spot; signal well in advance of any change in direction; and watch for turning vehicles.

Keep your riding skills honed through education.

Complete a formal riding education program, get licensed and take riding courses from time to time to develop riding techniques and to sharpen your street-riding strategies.

                              Be awake and ride sober.

Don't drink and ride, you could cause harm to yourself and others. Additionally, fatigue and drowsiness can impair your ability to react, so make sure that you are well rested when you hit the road.

                              Preparing To Ride

Making sure that your motorcycle is fit for the road is just as important as practicing safe riding. Should something be wrong with your motorcycle, it will be in your best interest to find out prior to hitting the road. To make sure that your motorcycle is in good working order, check the following:

Open Track Tocancipa 26 Octubre 2016

Well I m just putting my experience out here I ve ordered quite a few parts... — Kawasaki Vulcan 2000 VN2000 Rogue owners riders

Well I'm just putting my experience out here. I've ordered quite a few parts from J&P Cycle over the years and even been to their open house a number of times. Their service has always been good. I just recently had a bad experience with them. I ordered my Highway Bar for my bikeand I ordered a set of 1 1/4 inch highway bar clamps so I could mount the pegs I already have on the bar. I placed the order May 19th. I received my order May 24th. The highway bar was right but they sent 1 inch clamps instead of 1 1/4 inch clamps. Called them May 25 they said they would send the 1 1/4 inch clamps right away. Received that order May 31st. I opened the box and it was the same 1 inch clamps. I called on June 1st and explained they sent the wrong ones again. He said apparently they were having a quality control issue with the clamps. Well after going through everything the guy on the phone says he will put the order for the 1 1/4 inch clamps on hold until they solve the quality control issue and when they solve that they would send the right clamps. I said if your putting my order on hold until you solve this when can I expect to get the clamps. He says he don't know. I told him not acceptable. I just want my money back for that clamps. After a short conversation with him he agreed to refund my payment for the clamps and we done the needed info to get a refund and he said my card would show it in 1 to 3 days. That was June 1st. Well today is June 8th and no refund yet. I called them and you get their recorded menu. I hit customer service. I get a recording the says customer service is busy and to call back later. I done this 3 times and got the same message. So I call a 4th time but this time I hit the one that says to hit to place an order. With in 15 seconds I was talking to a person. They sure can answer the call fast when your going to spend money but you can't even reach customer service. I explained everything to the lady on the phone. She said that she really couldn't help me and customer service was busy and couldn't talk to me. Told me to leave my number and they would call me back in 24 to 48 hours. Sorry lady that is not acceptable. I need to speak to your supervisor. Well after a bit of insisting on my part I did get connected to her supervisor. Well I got the same BS from her. She told me customer service is busy and leave my number and the should call me in 24 to 48 hours. I ask her, so I'm supposed to sit here by my phone and just wait until your people decide to call me. She again said that was all she could do. Ok, fine I left my number and got off the phone. Well I was not getting anywhere with J&P Cycle so I called my credit card company. They were very nice listened as I explained the whole story to them. Gave them all the info the needed and was told they will take care of it for me and refund my money. I really didn't want to go to the card company but J&P Cycles just would not address the issue. Like I said J&P answered the phone in 15 seconds to place an order but they are to busy to take care of a customer that has a problem. Even though it is a small problem. It's still a problem. I guess I'll just have to take my business else where. It shouldn't be so hard to get the right set of clamps. Sorry for being so long winded but guess I needed to vent. Thanks

                                              Urgent: Ignition Help Needed.

Hey Guys and Gals, some of you may know my bike by now, some not; I have a 1978 Kawasaki KZ650sr.

I recently completed (well, almost) a pretty thorough restoration of my bike and tried to get her riding again. I fired get up and rose her down the road for about 15 minutes and then she died off. Tinkering afterwards, i noticed one coilpack started to smoke so I disconnected the Juice and started inspecting. I noticed that the coil that was smoking was really warm, and then i noticed that the other coil had a few cracks in it (pictured) and was also warm. After tinkering more and never getting anymore spark i dug out the Clymer's manual, looked up the checking procedure and found that neither coil had the required primary resistance of 4ohms; one was 1.6ohms and the other was .6ohms. The secondary resistance was off too.

So, a member on here recommended Emgo replacement coils and i picked up a pair. I reused my old plug caps, got them installed, and she fired right up with what sounded like a much stronger Spark. I rode the bike up the road and after about 10 minutes i lost cylinders 1 & 4; one of the new coils had ceased to function. I saw a puff of smoke and noticed that some "material" had ever so slightly shot out of the coil near each terminal. (pictured). checking the resistance, the new, bad coil had a primary reading that looked like a secondary reading and had no reading in the secondary....

Ok, now, on to MY QUESTION, FINALLY.. HAHA

So, i have two New Coils for the bike, both have consistent readings for Primary and Secondary resistance: 4.1ohms primary, and about 12.9k, secondary. The Clymer Manual states that it should be 4ohms and 23Kohms, but these are the coils that everyone and everywhere recommended.. Anywho

What I'm wondering is, should i run new wiring from the 1st connections for the three wires going to my coils? this would allow me to avoid wiring that i can't visually inspect that is inside the main harness. I Have measured the resistance to make sure i wouldn't be bypassing a wire that perhaps wasn't supposed to have resistance on it in line from the factory. The Green and the black neither have any resistance from the points to the 1st connector, however they also have no resistance on them from the 1st connection to the actual connection where they meet their respective coils (which is inside main harness); this leads me to believe that they are fine, right? The yellow/red wire however does have some resistance from the first connector to the coil (also inside main harness), and it measures in at 0.476Kohms. So, i probably shouldn't bypass this one, correct?

                                                  The Lime Green Color Scheme

Posted on March 29, 2016March 29, 2016 by Justin Stakes

Kawasaki Racing Green was derived by a paint and design genius known as “Paint by Molly” in a little shop in Brea, California.

Irvine, CA -(AmmoLand.com)- As racing celebrated the 75th running of the Daytona 200 on March 12, it’s also worth celebrating the birth of the iconic Lime Green racing colors for Kawasaki Motors Corp., U.S.A. (KMC), which started as an “in your face” challenge to the competition on Daytona’s high banks during the 1969 Daytona Bike Week.

At the time, superstitions and folkways were common at many tracks, Daytona included, where you simply didn’t race a green bike. However, in full attack mode to win races, capture headlines and grow US market share, KMC flat-out ignored convention.

When the gates opened, here came the factory with a truckload of enormously bright green 250cc A1RA and 350cc A7RA factory racers for a team of talented riders including Ken Araoka, Art Bauman, current KMC employee Walt Fulton III, Dick Hammer and Cal Rayborn. The event marked the first appearance of KMC’s now-famous livery, which was expressly designed to shake up the ranks, challenge the status quo, kick butt and take names.

How the Lime Green color scheme came to exist is as bold as the color itself. At the direction of KMC National Sales Manager Don Graves and National Marketing Manager Paul Collins, Akashi designer Chris Kurishima, and LA-area custom painter Rollin Sanders – better known as “Paint by Molly” – developed multiple options including the now-famous wild green and white combination. After much discussion by KMC management, the color was approved and supported by part of KMC’s annual promotional budget. At Daytona in 1969, KMC’s first Lime Green team drew a huge amount of attention and signaled the arrival of Kawasaki factory racing in an emphatic way. Interestingly, KMC’s current “Flying K” logo, penned by KMC advertising guru Nick Nichols, also debuted at the event.

And will not work the other way. the 03-04 brakes will not have enough contact on the 05-06 forks set.

Photos from Roger Strömberg's post — The Kawasaki ZZR1100 Appreciation Society

I've always liked bikes regardless of what type of bike it is. But there's a few bikes on my list that are special and that i really like to own myself, and behind all of them there's a story.

On top of the list there was the CBX 1000 (six cylinder) and the Kawasaki 750 (two stroke). These where the bikes that the tough guys drove when I groove up. I haven't owned them yet. But I have had the Kawasaki Z900, and that's good enough for now.

Then there was the Suzuki Katana. The mighty Katana. A really bad as bike. But for some reason I got tired of it and passed it on.

Tom Cruise made quite an impression on me with the GPZ900R. Great bike and I love it today. But back in the days I got tired of it.

Mainly because Suzuki released their GSX1100 EF with a 16 valve engine in it. It looked kind of strange. But when it run down the quarter mile and all you could see was that bad as tail light disappearing to the sound of the Vance & Hines my heart stopped. This is the bike that stayed the longest.

Then I got in a car accident with a truck two years ago that left me with a whiplash, and I couldn't take the vibrations from my belowed GSX anymore. It was kind of sad to let her go. But I knew that I had to get a more comfortable bike if I should be able to continue to ride, and I already knew what I wanted.

In August 1992 there was an article in the Swedish magazine Bike, an article that have become more or less iconic here. It was about a black Kawasaki ZZR 1100. The fastest production motorcycle ever built.

The story began one day when a mysterious man came into the magazine. Mr X. He was all dressed in black. Black leather, black helmet and a dark black visor. I'm gonna challenge the X2000 on the route between Gothenburg and Stockholm he said (Swedish speed-train). You are welcome to supervise it.

He was obviously insane. The estimated time for the train was somewhere between 3 hours and 5 minutes to 3 hours and 15 minutes. In august 10 they even managed to take it below 3 hours

They tried to talk him out of it. Talked about the danger with wild animals, driving at high speed at night, the police etc. Mr X replied with: My ZZR 1100 has a top speed of 315 km/h. That ought to do it.

SECTION 34. (a) Tires of Motor Vehicles. – No motor vehicle with metallic tires shall be operated upon any public highway, and solid tires whenever used shall be of sufficient thickness to prevent the metal rims thereof from coming in direct contact with the road.

                                                          (b) Brakes. – Every motor vehicle with four or more wheels shall be provided with dual hydraulic brake system so that in case of hydraulic line failure affecting the braking efficiency of any of the four wheels at least either the front or rear wheels shall retain normal braking capabilities. In the absence of such dual braking system every motor vehicle with four or more wheels shall be provided with safety valve devices of such design and make so that failure of the hydraulic braking system of the vehicle because of leakage in the line or other parts of the system will not affect all wheels but rather render at all times effective the braking power of either the two front wheels or the two rear wheels when brakes are applied. This requirement, however, does not apply to motor vehicles equipped with pneumatic braking system.

(b-1) Horns. – Every motor vehicle shall be provided with a horn or signalling devise in good working order: Provided, however, That no horn or signalling device emitting an exceptionally loud, startling, or disagreeable sound shall be installed or used on any motor vehicle.

All authorized emergency vehicles, such as ambulance and police cars and fire wagons used for emergency calls shall be equipped with a bell, siren, or exhaust whistle of a type approved by the Commissioner, and no such device shall be installed or used in any other vehicle.

No vehicle not classified as a motor vehicle under this Act shall be equipped with a horn or signalling device similar to the horn customarily used on motor vehicles.

                                                          (c) Headlights. – Every motor vehicle of more than one meter of projected width, while in use on any public highway shall bear two headlights, one on each side, with white or yellowish light visible from the front, which, not later than one-half hour after sunset and until at least one-half four before sunrise and whenever weather conditions so require, shall both be lighted.

Guys ,the winter is around the corner ,so...If your idea of storing your bike for winter is just throwing a cover over it, you may be in for some nasty surprises come spring time. The last thing you want to find out when riding season starts is that your bike won't, so use these tips to make sure your bike is as ready as you are when it's time to ride!

However, if you properly get your bike ready for winter storage, it'll make getting it running again when the riding season begins a whole lot easier, and prevent any unwanted surprises such as dead batteries, corrosion, and rust spots (or worse.)

Depending on what kind of motorcycle you ride there may be different things that will need to be addressed, but there is some general wisdom on how get it ready to be stored for the winter. Your main enemy during winter storage is damaging moisture, so most of our winterizing efforts will be aimed at keeping that away from your bike.

Ten Simple Steps to Winterize Your Motorcycle:

                                                                1) Surface Prep:

Washing your bike when nobody will see it for a few months anyway can be a drag, but giving your bike a thorough cleaning before storage is important; letting bug guts or water spots sit on your paint can corrode the finish permanently. Wash your bike and dry it completely to get all the moisture off the surfaces (an electric leaf blower is a great way to get all the nooks and crannies really dry.)

Add a coat of wax, which will act as a barrier against moisture and rust. Finally, spray exposed metal surface with WD-40 to displace all moisture (WD stands for ‘water displacement’) and to give them a protective coating against corrosion.

                                                                2) Change Oil and Filter:

Change your oil and filter. It’s better for your lubrication system to have fresh oil sitting in it for several months than to have used, broken down oil in it, not to mention the last thing you’ll want to do when riding season begins is change the oil before you can go ride. So lumingon ako sa likod, tapos lumapit sa guard baka may nahulog ako or ano man yun. It always cuts in and out when trying to listen to music or speak to somebody, they can NEVER HEAR me and that's even with shouting at the top of my lungs. The speakers are terrible as well so you'll need to soldier new speakers to it if you want to hear anything, and there's too many buttons just complicating it even more.

Luckily, I had a friend with the same unit and her charger didn't charge my X1 Slim and my charger did charge hers, so I conclusively ruled out the charger. Since I now had a useless $300 paperweight, I opened it up and I found a burnt out element on the circuit board. Something like that has everything to do with quality control and nothing to do with a customer's use of the product. I did take very good care of the unit, it even still has the protective screen film on the screen. $300 for two years is unreasonable.

                                                                              4. Periksa Kelengkapan Surat

                                                                              5. Kondisi Body Motor

                                                                              6. Lihat Olinya

                                                                              8. Nyalakan Mesin

Nyalakan mesin tanpa bantuan gas. Setelah menyala, jangan segera gas kencang-kencang.

                                                                                (1) How a Muffler Affects an Engine

The main purpose of installing a muffler on any vehicle is to reduce the noise created by the engine. Motorcycle manufacturers have to meet noise level regulations in order to make it legal to sell their products. Therefore, they add mufflers.

Mufflers have a series of baffles inside of them, which are intended to trap the sound waves that are generated in the engine. As the sound bounces back and forth, one series of sound waves becomes out of phase with the next, canceling it out. The muffler is "tuned" to the loudest sound that the engine creates, performing most efficiently to eliminate that particular frequency of sound.

In the process of eliminating excess sound, mufflers create backpressure. This reduces the engine’s performance by reducing airflow through the engine. The more backflow that exists, the less airflow there is and the less efficiently fuel is burned. Therefore, the vehicle’s performance is reduced.

On top of this, motorcycle manufacturers are faced with EPA (environmental protection administration) regulations limiting the maximum amount of exhaust pollutants that their bikes can produce. Thus, not only must they compromise ideal design in order to reduce sound volume, but they must also compromise ideal muffler design in order to reduce emissions.

Aftermarket exhaust system manufacturers are not faced with the same regulations as motorcycle manufacturers are. Actually, although the same regulations still exist, no authority checks to verify that aftermarket products meet those regulations. Mostly, this is because an exhaust pipe or muffler, by itself, does not create any sound or pollution.

                                                                                (2) The Difference Aftermarket Slip-on Exhausts Make

The major design difference between a stock motorcycle muffler and an aftermarket one is that the aftermarket one has fewer baffles inside it, reducing the backpressure that is created in the stock exhaust system. This reduction in backpressure improves the airflow through the engine, which can increase the burn efficiency, thereby increasing power.

                                                                                %d comments

Photographs of customized Kawasaki W650/800 motorcycles appear daily on internet sites. This particular motorcycle provides a popular platform for customization because it’s reminiscent of the engineering and styling of the classical British twins of the 1960’s and 1970’s. Yet it’s modern, reliable, affordable and readily available in many parts of the world.

Most of these customs represent a “minimalist” trend. The original choppers of the 1940’s and 1950’s followed a similar recipe. The objective appears to be stripping it down to the bare essentials. Then it’s either painted a subdued grey/black or a bright and unique color. The final product resembles a bobber or a rat bike … sometimes called a brat bike. Other versions incorporate rear set controls and a small tail section on the seat for a café racer look.

I’m interested in how some modifications affect the practicality and safety of the machine. Is there a point – and if so where is that point – at which the customized motorcycle becomes more visual art than transportation?

Perhaps I should pause for a moment here and state emphatically that I am not arguing against the customs. They can exhibit beautifully detailed craftsmanship combined with a high level of creativity and engineering. The fact that they are machines which can be fired up, motor down a road and come to a stop makes them even more unique in the world of art. But do they retain the practical and safety features necessary for them to be considered modes of real life transportation?

Let’s begin with the lighting incorporated into motorcycle design. What is its purpose? The headlight has a twofold purpose. It was first intended to light the road so the rider could see the path ahead of him. It’s generally accepted today that the headlight also makes the motorcyclist more visible to others. I don’t recall seeing a custom that hinders these purposes. What about the taillight and brake light? The purpose here is to alert vehicles behind the motorcycle of its presence and intentions to slow or come to a stop. These safety features are sometimes compromised by the builder due to reduced size, lens color, location or design. And finally – the turn indicators. These are favorite targets of customizers who see them as a direct assault on aesthetics. Sometimes they are simply eliminated. Sometimes they are incorporated into the taillight unit. Usually they are replaced by much smaller units with very short stems. All of these approaches nullify their safety purpose - which is to signal your intention to change the direction of your travel so that other vehicles can modify their road behavior accordingly. If you don’t think this is important try to remember how you felt and reacted the last time a car suddenly turned left in front of you without signaling.

                                                                                      %d comments

Ok it is a cold Saturday down here in Tassie so it is time I did another ROT news letter.

The ROT is now one of the biggest non organised riding groups within the state and I thank everyone who rides with us for including us in your motorcycle fun. We have close to 325 riders and pillions that now call themselves Rotters. At this point I would like to thank Shirena and Steve Burn for the job they do in keeping this thing afloat.

Each week more and more people are joining up with us and to all the new guy's and girls joining us a big welcome to you all. It makes me very proud to see in which direction the ROT is heading.

The rides are going very well with good numbers considering it is winter. Our social sip's are also going great and a big thanks to the Ocean Child for making us feel very welcome.

As some of you are aware in the past I have called off a couple of rides due to weather. Safety on rides is something I take very seriously and there will be times I will call a ride off.

Steve Burn has come up with a great idea. Seeing there are quite a few road/dirt bikes riding with us now each ride we are going to plan an alternative dirt route for the more adventurous of us. We will still start at the same place, meet for lunch and finish at the same place as well. It is not a separate ROT ride, but alternative ride and is about time as ROT rides should be for everyone. Please feel free to let me know what you think of this idea.

The Northern ROT is still going strong and I believe their numbers are growing as well, thanks to Mick & Stuart. They also do a ride once a month and numbers are building.

On Sunday the 17th Aug we are hosting a Creative Coatings - Hydrographic Printing 21 Springfield Ave day at their place in Moonah starting at 11am. We will have a Gold coin donation sausage sizzle and Moto Vecchia Cafe will have their coffee caravan selling coffee and other treats. All donations received will go to Tassie Autism to help children and families suffering from the affects of this.

Good afternoon, just a few tech tips on the belt noise and wear:

1--Gates PolyChain belts are prone to noise.

2--Belts will always track to the right if you are going forward,ie the cord is twisted in a Z twist to acomplish this and their are 2 more twist being a S&Z that makes the belt track to the left, used on left side drives.Supercharger drives for the drag cars use a S twist and the belt will track nuetral.

3--Alignment is very important for belt wear & noise, angular makes the tooth of the belt engage into the tooth of the pulley at 90 degrees and therefore applys the load on the full width of the tooth on the belt.

4--Use a straight edge from the face of the rear pulley to the face of the front pulley, check the thickness of each retaining flange of both pulleys and deduct the differance for parallel. Rear pulley may have to be moved in or out depending on the measurements.

5--Adjust axle for belt tension keeping in mind the parallel in step 4,move both the adjusters in until they touch the axle without moving your parallel alignment ,next do not measure anything just count the (flats or hex) on your adjusters evenly as you turn them in for the correct tension .

6--Wehave Goodyear belt that are quiet.

                                                                                          Jim@Karata

The problem is with the new belt not the pulleys,I have stated before in a post about the manufacture of belts.

Belts are mfg. with the cords 3 ways:

Z Twist-----Belt will track to the Right with a CW Rotation (RSD Trans)

S Twist-----Belt will track to the LEFT with a CCW Rotation (LSD Trans)

SZ Twist----Belt will track Nuetral regardles of Rotation (LS or RS Trans)

As you can see if someone sold you the belt with a incorrect Twist you will not overcome the problem you have.

Refer to the rotation and travel of the belt to determine what twist was inserted into the mfg. of the mandrel (belt).Belts are made on a mandrel and then cut to different widths (this is for straight tooth belts and not the Goodyear Eagle as the width of the mandrel is the finish width of the belt.

Your Proposals are Anti-Rider’s rights not Anti-Criminals

Motorcycle Rights Organization (MRO) assailed the various proposals laid by Volunteers Against Crime and Corruption (VACC) to eliminate crimes perpetrated by “Riding in Tandem”. Among the proposals are the requirement for all the riders to wear white helmets, compulsory registration of helmets to barangay and LGUs, wearing of vest with plate number and the speed limit of 30 kilometers per hour for motorcycles. The group also assailed the recent pronouncement of Manila Mayor Joseph Estrada that the city is open to the possibility of banning riding in tandem in Manila.

The Group said that these proposals only manifests their lack of deeper understanding and study why incidents of crimes have been escalating and it is very easy for them to propose such laws that in effect sacrifices the rights of millions of ordinary riders who’s main purpose is to use their motorcycles as a cheaper means of transportation in going to work.

“According to our constitution, every person is presumed innocent until proven guilty, but these proposals they already prosecuted every rider without proving anything. They already put a limitation on him just because he decides to take his wife, child, uncle, auntie, friend or what not on a ride on his motorcycle.” Said Jobert Bolanos, MRO Chairperson.

“With all due respect to our policemen, the problem of criminality is NOT THE RESPONSIBILITY of the public. Albeit the public can help them, the burden, prosecution, and responsibility should not be passed on because their duty, as policemen is to ease the problem of crime. Binabayaran natin ang sahod nila pero tayo pa rin ba ang gagawa ng trabaho nila?” Bolanos added.

Dapat ang Tire pressure mo sa harap mas mababa compare sa likod.. Bkt??..

Kc Kapag nag brake tayo yung bigat napupunta sa harap na gulong. So example tire pressure nyo sa harap 32 PSI at yung LIMIT na tire pressure ng gulong nyo sa harap is 36 PSI.. kapag nag brake tayo nadadagdagan ng pressure yung gulong lets say 6 PSI ,So ang nangyari bumuhat ng 38PSI(32+6) yung harap na gulong nyo eh limit nya is 36 lng.. Maaaring sumabog yung gulong or magkabukolbukol sya..

With it you can determine wich model you have, comparing your framenumber with our database. You can find your framenumber at the right-front of your frame, where the electrical cables are. If you have questions about this or other items , do not hesitate to email us at technical @ ar50.info

"Kawasaki have decided to knock Honda off the number one spot. Nobody doubts their ability to build big, beefy performance bikes but can they hope to succeed in the fickle mass market for tiddlers?"

So began the review of the 'new' Kawasaki models AR and AE in 1981. The answer to the above question is easy now. They did succeed. Building a motorcycle that lasts for years and years.

"The customers they want are learners between 16 and 18 years old who buy for technical innovation and big bike styling as much as performance and costs. There are two engine sizes: 49 and 78cc. The fifties are 30mph restricted (UK). Both sizes are available in AR roadrace styling (A-Roadrace) or as enduro styled AE (A-Enduro) trail bikes"

"The frame is a full cradle , so there is no weedy-looking empty space under the steering head But the biggest feature of the rear end, indeed the biggest feature of the AR and AE range is that we have the first Kawasaki road bike with UNI-TRAK suspension"

The first Kawasaki AR models are the A-types. They have a totally different tail . Parallel to the A-range Kawasaki produced the AE50 models, wich were more different from the AR50 C models than the A models are.

The AE50 models actually are the offroad version of the AR50A wich are produced in the early 80's

Kawasaki started the production of the AR50 models in 1981 , and finished it for most markets in 1996 with the AR50-C10 , available in 2 colours Sunbeam Red and Ebony.

Header - Attaches to the engine and is the straight or slightly divergent (opens up 2-3 degrees) section of the pipe. It helps to suck the exhaust gases out of the engine. The header pipe cross-sectional area should be 10-15% greater than the exhaust port window for when maximum output at maximum RPM's is desired. In some cases the area of the header pipe may have a cross-sectional area 150% of the exhaust port area. the length should be 6-8 of its diameters for maximum horsepower, for a broader power curve 11 times pipe diameter may be used. The part you trim off to tune.

Divergent (Diffuser) Cone - The section of the pipe that attaches to the header and opens up at an angle like a megaphone. It intensifies and lengthens the returning sound waves thus broadening the power curve. The steeper the angle the more intense the negative wave returns, but also the shorter the duration. The lesser the angle, of course, returns a less intense wave, but for a longer period of time (duration). The outlet area should be 6.25 times the inlet area. 7-10 degree taper angle.

Belly - Located between the divergent and convergent cones, it's length determines the relative timing of the negative and positive waves. The shorter the belly the shorter the distance positive waves travel and the narrower the RPM range. This is good for operating at HIGH RPM only. The longer the belly the broader the RPM range. The diameter of the belly has little or no effect.

Convergent (Baffle) Cone - Located after the belly and before the stinger, reflects the positive waves back to the open exhaust port and forces the fresh fuel mixture back into the combustion chamber as the exhaust port closes. The steeper the angle the more intense the positive wave and the gentler the angle the less intense. 14-20 degree taper angle. The taper angle primarily influences the shape of the power curve past the point at which maximum power is obtained.

Stinger - Located at the opposite end of the pipe from the header and after the convergent cone, it is the "pressure relief valve" of the pipe where the exhaust gasses eventually leave the pipe. The back pressure in the pipe is caused by the size (diameter) or length of the stinger. A smaller stinger causes more back pressure and thus a denser medium for the sound waves to travel in. Sound waves love denser mediums and thus travel better. A draw back to a small stinger is heat build up in the pipe and engine. DO NOT USE TOO SMALL A STINGER! The stinger diameter should be .58-.62 times that of the header pipe and a length equal to 12 of it's own diameters.

                                                                                                              %d comments

A bar topnotcher had urged the Integrated Bar of the Philippines-Bohol Chapter to take the cudgels to stop the implementation of the "Helmet Law" which is glaringly unconstitutional.

Former OIC Gov. Victor de la Serna said that the lawyers' group can be at the best moment by defending the helpless motorists from the implementation of RA 10054 otherwise known as the Motorcycle Helmet Act of 2009 as this law is unconstitutional in substance and application, impractical for a poor country like the Philippines and it serves as an incentive to the commission of crime under disguise.

In an interview by the Chronicle last Thursday, dela Serna said that on that four basis, the helmet law should not be blocked.

Dela Serna also called the provincial board members to pass a resolution objecting the strict imposition for the motorists to buy prescribed helmets.

The RA 10054 is unconstitutional in itself as it intrudes to the basic rights and freedom of movements of individuals.

According to dela Serna, any limitation to our freedom must have basis in public interest, public safety, public order and general welfare.

"Can a motorist and the back-riders compromise the public interest, public safety, public order and general welfare if they do not wear helmet?" dela Serna pointed out.

The former OIC governor believed that safety is matter of personal choice of the individuals and no law should be passed limiting the freedom of movement without basis.

He further explained that riding a motorcycle without a helmet is understood in the legal parlance as an assumed risk of the motorists. Besides, the government won't pay the hospital bills once a motorist meets an accident.

Dela Serna described the helmet law, authored by Senator Ramon Revilla Jr., as an imitation to America. He said that the situation in America is entirely different compared to the situation in our country.

"Motorcycles in the United States are used for entertainment while in the Philippines, motorcycles are used as the cheapest and affordable mode of transportation", Dela Serna said.

LAST FRIDAY, JULY 7, 2012, AT AROUND 12:20-12:40PM, AS I WAS PICKING UP MY GRADE 5 DAUGHTER IN POVEDA, I HAD A NEAR HOLDUP/CARNAP/CARJACK EXPERIENCE.

I DROPPED MY YAYA ON GUADIX DR. CORNER POVEDA ST. , THEN I PARKED MY CAR ON ADB AVE., VERY NEAR GUADIX DR. ,BY THE SIDEWALK OF ADB AND WAITED INSIDE THE CAR.

WHILE WAITING, I WAS BUSY TEXTING. AFTER ABOUT 5-10 MINS., I HEARD SOME SOUND LIKE SOMEONE WAS TOUCHING THE LEFT REAR SIDE OF MY CAR. I COULD SEE THREE WOMEN IN THE CORNER OF MY EYE. I WAS ABOUT TO UNLOCK THE DOOR SINCE I THOUGHT IT WAS MY DAUGHTER AND YAYA. THEN A MAN KNOCKED ON MY WINDOW SAYING, “MAY SUSI NA NAIPIT.”, WHILE POINTING TO THE LEFT REAR SIDE OF MY CAR, AS HE WAS HOLDING A CELLPHONE AND A CAR KEY.

I COULDN’T UNDERSTAND CLEARLY WHAT HE WAS SAYING. I WAS ABOUT TO GO DOWN AND LOOK, THEN I SUDDENLY GOT SCARED. IT JUST DAWNED ON ME THAT THIS MUST BE ONE OF THOSE “MODUS OPERANDI” THAT TED FAILON HAS BEEN WARNING DRIVERS, ESPECIALLY THE WOMEN OF.

THEN I REALIZED I SHOULDN’T HAVE OPENED MY WINDOW. SO I CLOSED IT RIGHT AWAY. THE THREE LADIES WERE UNDER A WHITE WITH RED HEARTS UMBRELLA, LOOKING DOWN NEAR MY LEFT REAR WHEEL. I COULDN’T SEE THEIR FACES BECAUSE OF THE UMBRELLA. I WAS THINKING THEIR “SUSI” MIGHT HAVE BEEN RAN OVER BY MY WHEEL, SO I STARTED MY CAR AND SLIGHTLY MOVED IT FORWARD. I WAS WAITING FOR THEM TO PICK UP THE “SUSI”, BUT THE LADIES JUST LEFT AND WALKED TOWARDS GUADIX DR., AND THE MAN WENT BACK TO MY WINDOW SIDE AND SAID THE SAME THING AGAIN. I MOVED THE CAR SLIGHTLY FORWARD AGAIN AS I WAS READY TO SPEED AWAY. THEN HE LEFT, GOING TOWARDS THE LADIES WHO WALKED.

I WATCHED THEM WHILE THEY WERE WALKING. THE MAN WAS TALKING TO SOMEONE ON HIS CELLPHONE OR MAYBE PRETENDING. THEN THE MAN WALKED BACK TOWARDS ADB AGAIN, THIS TIME WALKING ON THE SIDEWALK OF ADB. I WAS READY TO LEAVE IF HE EVER COMES BACK TO ME AGAIN. BUT HE JUST CONTINUED WALKING STILL TALKING ON HIS CELLPHONE.

                                                                                                                    %d comments

What happens is that the original content contained in the post becomes moot and whatever the "Thread Jacker" has manipulated the content to be becomes the new content thereby "hijacking" the original intent of post. People now respond to the "thread jacker's" input and that becomes the focus of the tread. This morning marked the trial implementation of the much vilified EDSA Motorcycle Lane. To celebrate the Feast of Hearts, the MMDA has chosen to demonstrate the safety of their Motorcycle Lane by holding an ESCORTED motorcade down the busy Metro Manila thoroughfare. I was able to catch this on the news this morning and I literally could not believe my eyes. This was their much awaited and much vaunted demonstration. How, for the life of me, can you honestly say that THAT was a real world demonstration? You had MMDA escorts on the left as well as media on the either side covering the phalanx of uniformed (free shirts people!!) riders slowly crawling along EDSA. The brief newscast showed some of the participating riders and I immediately recognized some of the participants in the charade. Lo and behold, they were the so called leaders of the rider representatives.

First and foremost, the Motorcycle Lanes as done by the MMDA is both wrong and dangerous. They were implemented without giving any thought to the welfare of the riders as well as the other users of the road. Haphazardly placed and hurriedly implemented without Implementing Rules and Regulations, these lanes were touted as savers of the riding public but behind it lay a different story. I will not delve into the legalities of what the MMDA is doing as well as the statistics that the good Chairman just loves throwing at us, we have the MRO and Jobert Bolanos to speak for us regarding this. I’d like to seek a deeper, darker movement going on in the guise of public safety.

The MRO has been against this version of the Motorcycle Lane act from the very beginning. It was clear that no proper consultation with rider groups, except maybe for one favored one. After voicing out this concern to various parties as well as media entities the MRO was answered, quite dismissively by the MCPF. As stated in an interview by MCPF Head Atoy Sta. Cruz.

The bill, introduced by Rep. Jim Sensenbrenner (R-WI), would require the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) to seek independent scientific analysis on the effects of 15 percent ethanol blend (E15) gasoline.

"The EPA's decision to allow E15 into the marketplace will impact every American who owns a car, lawnmower or boat," Sensenbrenner said. Automakers insist that using E15 will void warranties, lower fuel efficiency and cause premature engine failure. In off-road engines, the effects can even be dangerous for users.

"There are serious concerns that the EPA used only one Department of Energy test and rushed E15's introduction into the marketplace," Sensenbrenner said. "This test was limited in scope and ignored a plethora of evidence – albeit inconvenient evidence for the EPA – that shows E15 gasoline has a negative effect on engines."

The new E15 gasoline formulation may appear at a fueling station near you and you need to be careful where you use this new fuel blend. That is because the EPA, in October 2010, approved E15 for use in model year 2007 and newer light duty vehicles (cars, light-duty trucks, and medium-duty passenger vehicles). In January 2011, it added model year 2001-2006 light duty vehicles to the approved list.

Riders should pay attention to this list because no motorcycles or ATVs are currently listed.

In engines not designed to dissipate that extra heat, damage in the form of premature wear can result. Although this is a concern in all motorcycles, it's particularly problematic for air-cooled engines found in many bikes. Moreover, use of E15 may even void the manufacturer warranty.

MANILA, Philippines - It’s all systems go for Monday’s dry-run of the motorcycle lanes along Commonwealth Avenue in Quezon City and the Diosdado Macapagal Avenue in Pasay City, the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) said over the weekend.

The MMDA said the agency has already installed the last traffic and warning signs on the two major roadways informing the public of the scheme.

“We are already done with the installation of traffic signs for the dry-run of the motorcycle lanes,” MMDA Chairman Francis Tolentino said as he clarified that erring motorcycle riders apprehended for violating the scheme would only be made to undergo an on-the-spot 15-minute road safety seminar, after which a sticker stating that the rider has completed the seminar will be attached on the motorcycle’s fuel tank.

Tolentino, along with MMDA Assistant General Manager for Operations Emerson Carlos, will jointly oversee operations for the first day of the scheme at Commonwealth while MMDA Undersecretary Alex Cabanilla and Director Yves Gonzalez will lead agency personnel in Macapagal Avenue.

Under the scheme, the fourth lane of Commonwealth Avenue and the rightmost lane of Macapagal Avenue would be designated as the motorcycle lanes. Except for those who will make turns, motorcycle riders are banned from plying other lanes. Other vehicles, however, can use the motorcycle lanes except for passenger buses and other heavy vehicles.

The MMDA chief said the dry-run would last for one week, at which time he added there is no more reason for motorcycle riders to say that they did not knew of such a scheme when accosted by traffic enforcers.

Traffic enforcers will issue traffic citation tickets against violators starting on October 24 where they face a fine of P500.

The agency said the scheme would help resolve issues of traffic congestion and safety along the two major roadways, especially at Commonwealth, dubbed the “Philippine killer highway” due to the number of fatal accidents involving motorists and pedestrians.

My name is Jobert Bolanos, Chairman of Motorcycle Rights Organization and President of Motorcycle Advocates of the Philippines. I would like to seek help in a brewing issue surrounding the apprehension of motorcycles in your City.

A few weeks ago, a few riders have sent word to the community that Pasig City enforcement had started apprehending motorcyclists for loud exhaust systems. I applaud the city for taking such measures to enforce the nation's laws that govern all vehicles however, there has been several things that are amiss or has not been explained properly.

I have been in contact with several people and offices of the DOTC to see if there has been anything written on the standards of the sound levels for all vehicles. And as far as my information gathered, there is still no definite law on this or it is still in the works as of this writing. Which brings me to the question of the said ordinance being implemented in Pasig City.

Here are a few of the things that I would like to clarify:

                                                                                                                              1. Has there been a public hearing for the ordinance that apprehends loud exhaust systems?

                                                                                                                              2. When and where was this ordinance published for public dissemination?

                                                                                                                              3. Was there a study made on what the standard is? What is the set standard?

                                                                                                                              4. How is the standard, if any, being measured?

                                                                                                                              5. Has all enforcement been trained for this?

                                                                                                                              6. Where is the procedure or Implementing Rules and Regulations for the ordinance?

As it seems, the ordinance as implemented and being carried out by your enforcers has been specifically targeted to apprehend motorcycles users only. And to be more specific, small motorcycle or underbone/scooter users only while the other bikes with higher displacements are being ignored. And what is more intriguing is other vehicles such as Jeeps, cars, vans, suv's, trucks and buses who have the same problem are also being ignored. As far as the ordinance is concerned, isn't it supposed to apply to every vehicle that passes through your city?

I was also provided a copy of the said ordinance by your Barangay Affairs Office (bao@pasigcity.gov.ph) and nothing in the said ordinance or any law in that matter has any Implementing Rules and Regulations on "Noise Contolling Devices" unlike the "Clean Air Act" which has it's own. Not even a hint or a simple description on what separates an open pipe to an aftermarket or performance muffler.

                                                                                                                              %d comments

First, he dreamt that Jesus is showing how evil dota is, then he woke up and blurted out: “Ayoko na magdota!”( “I don’t want to play DOTA!”).

He fell asleep again and had his second dream:

                                                                                                                                  %d comments

The two bikes couldn’t have been more different. One was a brand new sports-bike, gleaming lazily in the pale early morning sun. The machine was fairly dazzling, its sleek, rakish lines and arresting colors clearly betraying its purpose. The other was patently nondescript.

It may have been black. I can’t clearly recall now. It was certainly European: BMW and Moto Guzzi come to mind. It might have been an early Harley-Davidson or Indian, though, now that I think back; or perhaps an Excelsior, or Brough-Superior. The actual brand was of no consequence regardless of the marque, it exuded the classic and unmistakable aura of the quintessential motor-cycle. I regarded the newer machine for only a fleeting instant before fixing my gaze on the elder of the two. There was something about it, something indefinable, yet tangible to a fault and then I noticed its rider.

He was much older than his mount; that was certain. He was not particularly tall, nor stout, but as I recall now, seemed inordinately substantial. There was something about him that was singular and rare, much like the motorcycle he had ridden there. His face was an unusual blend of features: symmetrical, yet wrought with character; indistinct, yet unforgettable. It was a countenance at once confident and curious, sagacious and naive, courageous and circumspect, placid and mettlesome. His eyes, set wide under a deep and craggy brow, sparkled as he talked.

One moment they would glitter with the wonder of a babe, and the next glint with flames of passion and certitude. I stood quietly by and listened to his disquisition unfold. I recount it here in the way I remember it: august, wise, and eminently powerful, couched in words and phrases rarely heard and far from fashionable, yet fraught with a power and substance that is timeless.
