    • Broke at 12

    • Replaced mine at 10k before it had a chance to leave me stranded

    • Yup. I took the little metal sleeve off of the lever side and havent had any issues. Went through two OEM cables that both snapped at the lever

    • 68000 ks..made it 20 ks home with only 2 threads of wire holding..just..

    • Always have a spare cable with you.....

    • Good advise Dave C. I picked one up for less than $30 at my local Kaw dealer. Cheap insurance.

    • Mine groans a little bit and its aftermarket. I've been ignoring it since I've never experienced a break. Clearly from experience here I should lube it up. Thanks guys.

    • There's a tool you can buy that mounts to your cable at the lever that allows you to put the plastic tube from a lubrication can, WD-40, Cable Lube, JB-80, whatever you like to use, and spray until it comes out the bottom and you're done. Wish I would have done that sooner. I also got a cable from JP Cycles, just 20 minutes away from me, for $23.00+tax.

    • It's well talked about that the stock clutch cables seem to break. A lot of us have gone with aftermarket cables. They seem to be much better.

    • That little tool... I know the one.. I never seem to get that thing to work right..
